Healthcare in Thailand is almost universal. Every Thai citizen has access to healthcare through the universal healthcare system, often referred to as the 30-baht scheme put in place by Thaksin Shinawatra. Others have healthcare provided by their social security system because they are working. Many have private healthcare provided by their companies – this is the one everybody wants.
Foreigners in Thailand can share the social security system, provided they have a work permit. Though many have private insurance provided by their employers, or simply through their own insurance plans.
Healthcare in Thailand is cheaper than in the West and in many ways better than what is available in Western Countries, simply because you can walk in and get care when you need it.
