Hospitals in Thailand come in every shape and size, from public to private, dental to skin, there is a wide variety of hospital care available here. The government provides everything from small rural hospitals to larger tertiary hospitals that are referral stations for the smaller units, to massive university teaching hospitals affiliated with the universities.
The Private Hospital system is even more impressive. There are small highly specialized hospitals, in most major centers and in Bangkok. There are also medium and large general purpose Hospitals in all major cities and Bangkok, to the massive tourist-centric hospitals like Bumrungrad and Bangkok International Hospital.
There are large hospital groups like BDMS (Bangkok Dusit Medical Group), and the Smitivej Group, along with Phyathai Group. Medicine is big business here and MEdical Tourism is the biggest of them all.
