Bumrungrad Hospital is very hard to miss because it is located in Sukhumvit Soi 3, in Bangkok, Thailand. It is easily visible as you pass by on the expressway just to the north of the hospital, and as you are moving north or south on Sukhumvit, near the expressway on-ramps.

“Bumrungrad” is a Thai word that means to nurture the people which has become their primary goal from the moment they entered the medical services field leading to recognition around the world.

Bumrungrad Hospital started on September 17, 1980, as a humble private hospital located in Soi Sukhumvit 3 with the goal of delivering international-standard medical services and exceptional care to every patient. The hospital started with a 200-bed facility in a seven-story building offering treatment in Internal Medicine, Surgery, and Obstetrics-Gynecology, with four doctors and support personnel catering to a few hundred patients.

With continuous effort and hard work, the hospital eventually became globally recognized. In 1989, Bumrungrad Hospital was officially listed on the Thailand Stock Exchange under the name of Bumrungrad Hospital Public Company Limited and it didn’t stop there. The demands of the patients continued to grow, prompting the hospital to expand and build a new facility. On January 15, 1997, the people welcomed Bumrungrad’s new 12-story building that has a total area of over 70,000 square meters. The facility was inaugurated by H.R.H Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

Moving forward, 36 years later, the hospital continued to expand and accommodate patients.

1.     (2) Cardiac catheterization laboratories – this procedure is also called cardiac cath or coronary angiogram. It is an invasive imaging procedure that lets the medical professional examine the patient’s heart function.

That along with numerous personal experiences at the hospital myself.

On a personal note:

I had rotator cuff surgery in December of 2015 at Bumrungrad Hospital. I was admitted on Thursday afternoon. I had the surgery on Friday morning, including filling in a small hole in my humerous that was discovered during scanning. I was released from the hospital on Sunday afternoon and I was back to work on Monday morning. I was treated well at Bumrungrad and often go back there when I am in Bangkok. I had a small tear in my rotator cuff which was repaired skillfully at Bumrungrad. I have regained a full range of motion following ~6 months of at-home therapy.

For those of you that are interested I was in a Single Room when I stayed in Bumrungrad.
